NAZARETH PAST AND PRESENT

The beautiful city of Nazareth is located in the Lower Galilee, and is the center of the Christian Pilgrimage.
The home of Jesus, with a wide selection of churches, museums, and history.  You will be able to explore its abundant culture, local people, and fascinating past. The tour commences in Fauzi Azar, a 200-year-old Arab mansion belonging to a respected Nazarene family in the Old City of Nazareth. In 2005, meticulous renovations saw the property converted into the first hostel in the city. Starting from its charming entrance, we will explore the blend of old and new among the local market, street vendors, traditional food staples, and boutique cafes and restaurants. From there, we will continue onto Mary’s Well, a significant historical site dating back to the New Testament where Angel Gabriel is said to have appeared to Mary and therefore is of monumental importance to Christianity.  We will then head to the oldest mill – El Babour spice shop, where an assortment of aromatic spices are ground in the most traditional of ways. Also on the schedule is a stop at three of the most religious sites in the city—The Greek Orthodox Church of The Annunciation, The Basilica of The Annunciation and The White Mosque. This is your opportunity to explore Nazareth’s deep-rooted past intertwined with its modern-day backdrop.
